Buffalo Trails Multimedia Communications is operated by Tanya Ishikawa, an award-winning, freelance journalist and editor based in Montrose, Colorado. After four years as a public relations professional and four more years as a newspaper reporter, Tanya began providing freelance editorial and content creation services in 2004.
Her work is regularly published in various Denver metro area magazines, newspapers, newsletters and websites. She has also been involved with video and film production for the past seven years, mainly in the roles of producer and editor. Her projects have included a monthly TV show on Colorado filmmaking, a gala banquet awards video with 25 interviews and profiles of Colorado’s most influential and inspiring African American women, a public service announcement for The Senior Hub nonprofit, and several other documentary and narrative projects.
Tanya serves as a board member of the Open Media Foundation and is a former City Councilmember of Federal Heights, Colorado. She is also a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, Colorado Press Association, and Colorado Film and Video Association. She has lived in Japan and enjoys traveling with her husband and son to visit native and traditional cultures.
